MSD Developer (170122)

VISTA Technology Services Inc. is seeking a MSD Developer to support in-use technology from a current customer in Landover, MD. The individual will be working on the software contained within scanning devices in a logistics warehouse.

The MSD Developer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing an in-use system, to include bug fixes as well as large and small modifications to requirements. The developer is responsible for working with the team to gather requirements, complete designs, implement changes, and coordinate releases. The developer is also responsible for maintaining the SQL Compact database and database design. The developer will work with on-site support staff to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner. The MSD software works with a parent data system, so the developer will need to interface with representatives of that system. Main Technologies in use:

Visual Studio 2008, specifically VB.NET 3.5; SQL Server Express 2008; Visual SourceSafe

Job Requirements:

Candidates will need experience working with:

• Visual Studio 2008, specifically VB.NET 3.5
• SQL Server Express 2008
• Visual SourceSafe

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with software development methodologies.
• Ability to translate client requirements into application design and system requirements
• Ability to troubleshoot application and database issues
• Ability to create software development design documentation
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

Education and Experience:

• BS Degree in a related field such as Software Development or Computer Engineering

• 6 - 9 years of experience working in a related field
