Naval Aviation Technical Writer

VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking a Technical Writer to support the PMA-265 Program Office at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM). The successful applicant will apply technical writing skill towards naval aviation principles to support the Integrated Product Teams (IPT) with all TMS aircraft. Successful applicant will work in a team environment and provide technical and programmatic support for the F/A-18 & EA-18G IPT teams.

Job Requirements:

  • Technical writing, research and data collection for various IPT system/subsystem projects to include writing Engineering documents, White papers, Project plans, Training and Maintenance documentation.

  • Research and analyze aircraft modification designs, test results for systems/subsystems upgrades and provide technical written documentation for PMA-265 IPT leads initiatives and alternative solutions.

  • Organize, manage and participate in all technical, programmatic reviews and meetings.

  • Documentation of all data in a technical written report format for Lv1 and IPTs.

  • Stand in as the point-person in the absence of the level 2's IPTs in selective meetings.

Job Qualifications:

  • MS or MA degree in a Business related field. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree in any field or a Project Management Institute (PMI) certification and an additional three (3) years of experience may be substituted for an MS or MA degree. An additional five (5) years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • At least ten (10) years of experience in program management, technical, or business analysis discipline, related to weapon systems acquisition and life cycle management.

  • Program coordination experience including well-developed verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; analytical skills; attention to detail; organizational skills; ability to assess, apply, and recommend improvements to established business processes; and have the ability to balance priorities in order to work effectively in the fast-paced program office environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook e-mail)
     

 Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, VISTA will consider only applicants with Secret security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
