VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking a HM&E Test Engineer to support a U.S. Navy Shipbuilding Program in Pascagoula, MS. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Be part of a team responsible for providing services and products encompassing the full spectrum of system development, design, integration, and testing of all shipboard HM&E Systems and/or HM&E mission areas.

Responsibilities:

• Provide program technical support to the HM&E Assistant Program Manager (APM) and full spectrum of system development, design, integration, and testing of all shipboard HM&E systems.
• Acts as Senior Engineer and Test Lead responsible as a witness for Government testing on shipboard Deck systems, Elevators, and various other systems as required by the government customers.
• Provide HM&E installation, operational test, and evaluation support for new construction ships including Electrical Systems, Deck Systems, Auxiliary Systems, Main Propulsion Systems, Damage Control Systems, Ventilation Systems, Environmental Systems, Engineering/Ship Control Systems.
• Responsible for HM&E technical evaluation efforts.
• Identify, assess, and recommend solutions to problems or issues in LHA(R)/LPD HM&E systems.
• Conduct joint studies of problems and solutions with the SDM and SUPSHIP and provide programmatic HM&E recommendations to the LHA(R)/LPD Technical Director/HM&E team.
• Support ship shock certification packages.
• Support Weapons System Explosive Safety Board (WSESRB) and Platform Certification Decision processes.
• Participate in Strike Team meetings, taking actions, maintaining trackers, resolving technical issues and implementing solutions.
• Support detailed technical reviews of work packages and post-delivery availability installations for scope, technical accuracy, and hull applicability. Investigate Trial Cards and provide recommendations for adjudication, correction or acceptance with no further action.
• Perform Witness Tests, Test Procedure review, Test Report review, Test Execution tracking, and monitor Total Ship Management Systems for Sea Trails.
• Review and evaluate data in completed test reports.
• Create, update, and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 10+ years of HM&E and HM&E Test technical support experience
• Experience providing engineering support for Amphibious Mission systems and operations to U.S. Navy shipbuilding program preferred
• Knowledge of Weapon System Explosive Safety Board (WSERB) and Platform Certification Decision process
• To witness testing and perform ship checks must be able to walk and climb throughout the ship may be required. Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required
