VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking a Waterfront Deck Systems SME to support U.S. Navy Shipbuilding Program in Pascagoula, MS. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as Subject Matter Expert for Mission Systems Underway Operations
• Advise and support Technical Director and Warfare Systems Integration PAPM/Technical Director with configuration management, combat system HM&E, and safety including PARM Reviews, Configuration Control Board (CCBs), and Quarterly Program Reviews (QPRs)
• Support HM&E systems design, integration, and testing
• Work with Ship Design Management (SDM) to review and access HM&E technical engineering problems and provide programmatic recommendations and solutions
• Lead Deck Machinery Integration Representative for LHA/LPD Mission Systems Equipment
• Provide Waterfront Production and Quality Installation Oversight of Deck Machinery
• Maintains productive liaison with the Government, Shipbuilder and Ships Force personnel
• Perform ship checks
• Travel as needed

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• 15+ years of shipboard engineering and auxiliary equipment and deck systems technical management experience including 5+ years of ship construction or ship repair experience on amphibious ship deck systems, including elevators, and aviation system components (cranes, safety nets, and hangar doors)
• Ship HM&E and HM&E Test technical support experience
• Knowledge of Configuration Control Board (CCBs) and Weapon System Explosive Safety Boards (WSERBs)
• To perform ship checks must be able to walk and climb throughout the ship may be required. Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment
• Ability to travel as needed
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required

This position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
