VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking an experienced Front-end Developer to support a Navy customer located in Arlington, VA. This is a hybrid position reporting onsite 2 days/wk. For this position, only candidates with an Active DoD Secret Clearance and residing within commuting distance of Arlington, VA will be considered. 

Responsibilities

• Assist Navy R&D customer with analyzing their needs and challenges, identify and implement system improvements and create new web-based cloud centric applications while addressing current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality.
• Using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies such as JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks, including Node.js and React or Angular to develop web-based self- service applications and provide real system support.
• Work with a team of data scientists, developers and engineers to build scalable web-based applications that pull from several database sources using technologies such as ES6+ JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, Git, Tomcat, PL SQL / PL pgSQL, AJAX, HTML 5, CSS 3, or Restful Web services.
• Work in fast agile SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) environment (Demoing, Sprinting, Iterative Development) to develop applications from vision to implementation.
• Actively communicate with customers, stakeholders, and product support team
• Detail-oriented and able to assess issues and develop resolutions to meet project/program goals and objectives.
• Effectively manage multiple tasks within a dynamic and fast-paced work environment

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related engineering discipline required.
• Security+ Certification required.
• 3+ years of experience with database-driven web applications working with cloud services (AWS, Azure)
• 3+ years of front-end development experience with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks, including Node.js and React or Angular in a production environment.
• 2+ years of experience with React and understand Functional Components vs Class Components
• 2+ years of database querying (MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle)
• Experience with Modern Software Development Lifecycle Techniques (Git Branching)
• Experience with API-to-API application integration
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.

This position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, VISTA will consider only applicants with an active DoD security clearance.
